If you can, send an email.
One of the things I do not like with divided tracking applications is that you need to input your data manually. That will not be an issue if you have 5-10 transactions. But then, there are dividends, deposits, and splits. I mean, who wants to deal with it?
The Intelligent CSV Import
Luckily, our application lets you import the output from Trading 212. No changes are needed. Just export the CSV, and you can import it. Give it a few seconds, and you will receive a notification :)
Ticker-Sense
You do not need to bother about the ticket symbols on the file. The T212Tracker may not already have that ticker saved, but it finds and adds it to its database for you.
Our users who tried to work with Yahoo Finance know that they need to add suffixes on some tickers.
With T212, it's all done on the go.
I will be honest. Ticker-Sense is not yet perfect. But if it struggles to make a decision, I get an update right away to help the application :)
Just Set It and Forget It
As I said, CSV import is a good feature, though now the T212 Dividend Tracker have an addition to the import feature. The email feature.
You can forward emails from Trading212 to T212Tracker. As long as your email is the same as the email you used to sign-up, the application automatically parses and processes the activities like buying and selling.
The same goes for deposit emails. You can forward them, and they will appear in your account!
Some of our users set up email rules; this way, when they receive an email from Trading212, the email is forwarded to the T212 application and voila. All updated.
The email feature is now in testing mode. Currently, T212 can work pretty well with Gmail. Microsoft Outlook and Mail app. We will need more tests to see if we need to make any updates to the logic for other platforms.
The Currency
When you import a file, the dividend tracking platform understands your currency. You can always change the currency on the application to see your investments in other currencies.
With email parsing, the dividend tracking application can still understand your currency. Therefore, you would not need to update anything.
How to use the feature
I am rolling out this feature for all users. Soon, when you log in to your account, you will see the email address to which you can forward your emails.
As always, we are looking for feedback. This email parsing addition is feedback from one of the users. It was so much fun to develop the idea because when a user has a need, it is the perfect time for brainstorming!
I hope this new feature will benefit the Trading212 users; in the end, all the effort is to make dividend tracking more straightforward and reliable for all of us.
Happy investing!
